I needed a coffee table and I saw this one and read the reviews so I went for it. Overall, it’s a nice piece. The finish seems a little fragile so use coasters and don’t put anything with rough edges on it. If a big dog jumps up on this, it’s all over. The pull-up table is okay but a touch wobbly. I really don’t use that part of it but I do enjoy the storage. My only issue is that it’s rather small once you get it set up. I’d love the table more if it was twice as long. Also, they should really pre-assemble this and just ship it so you screw the legs on it (I got a file cabinet like that so I know they can do it). Anyway, I really can’t complain for the price. I gave it a lot of stars because I needed one and this works. Also, it showed up on my doorstep so I didn’t have to go to the store, deal with salespeople, wait a month, schedule the delivery. It just showed up with Prime. I’d recommend and I’d get this again for another room. I hope this helps you make an informed decision.

Love the look of this very reasonably priced coffee table. Was kind of a nightmare to assemble, as the directions are not as clear as they should be. After installing hinges wrong and re-doing it, it finally came together and looks great. Only downsides: can’t open/close hinged part with one hand, and it’s not super smooth, but it does seem sturdy. And, I worry the finish will get damaged from liquids or scratched when using for drinks/food plates on it (are we only peeps that eat dinner always in front of tv sitting on sofa??) so I went to hardware store to see if I could get glass cut to put on top, and was quoted $150!! Not gonna spend twice the cost of table to protect the top, so we will see how long this lasts and how it wears.

Okay so this coffee table is my absolute favorite piece of furniture in my new apartment. It’s also a perfect dupe for the more expensive $200 table from wayfair and I highly recommend this one over Wayfair’s.
So now for assembly. A few other reviews mentioned that the lift top part of the table was not very sturdy and I figured out why some people have that issue.
During assembly there is a part in the instructions where you have to disassemble the hydraulic lifting mechanism and then rescrew on the nut after the piece is attached to the table. When you are doing this part, you need to make sure that you tighten BOTH NUTS. You are only actually directed to unscrew one side of the hydraulic mechanism, but the other nut on the side that you are not instructed to mess with is not completely tightened when it comes from the manufacturer.
I included a picture so you can see exactly which part you need to tighten.
This is where people run into problems with the sturdiness and wobbliness of the lift top part.
So pay close attention to all parts of the assembly. It took me about an hour and a half to assemble by myself.
The top wood grain piece is also cut from one singular piece of wood, so you have to make sure the grain lines up the right way to ensure perfect fit.
SO again, make sure that you tighten BOTH nuts on BOTH sides of the hydraulic mechanism and you will have an absolutely gorgeous and incredibly sturdy coffee table.

I REALLY love this coffee table. the looks of it are exactly what I wanted, and I appreciate the storage space. Fully built, the pieces fit together pretty seamlessly (which I have not found to be the case for many other pieces of furniture you assemble yourself). That’s made even more impressive by the fact that it wasn’t the easiest to put together. I think the instructions could have been a bit more clear/straightforward, but ultimately got there in the end. My only other complaint is that the hinges where the central compartment opens feel a little fragile, so it has to be handled very carefully when opening and closing and doesn’t pull up evenly (like you HAVE to use two hands on either side). This feels like the only part that might wear down and break over time if we’re not careful with it.
