I purchased two of these for my AirBnb rental because I wanted something colorful to go with the original 60s ceiling light and these beds didn’t disappoint. (Please excuse the pics as the room is a work in progress.) I had them assembled by a guy who does Ikea furniture assembly. He said that all you need to do is put ALL the pieces together WITHOUT tightening. Once they’re all together you begin to tighten. If you tighten each piece as you go they might not line up correctly. The beds themselves are very pretty. I got the teal color which is a medium to slightly darker tone and gives a nice pop of color but not it’s garish in any way. The upholstery is a nice thick fabric that feels like it will hold up well. The frames are lightweight, I’m assuming made out of pine. I would have preferred if they were made out of a more dense wood but for the price it’s perfectly acceptable. At least they’re easy to move if needed. Two of us have slept in it with a 10″ Zinus Ultima Comfort memory foam mattress also purchased on Amazon. Together we weigh 350 lbs and the bed was perfectly sturdy. I chose a 10″ mattress because I didn’t want the bed to be too low and it’s a perfect height in my opinion. I highly recommend these beds for the look, quality and the price.

The bed frame looks exactly as pictured. Everything comes inside of the headboard which is neat. Only issue was that the frantic ripped a little on the back. I don’t think it’s too much of a big deal though because it’s on the back of the headboard. The bed is also pretty low, so I’m going to add bed risers to it. Overall, assembly wasn’t bad either. The bed frame is pretty light weight. I bought it as a twin frame so that could also be why. Overall, I like the new frame!

Perhaps my expectations were off – I’m used to having the metal foldable bedframe and just screwing a headboard to it. So when this arrived and I started pulling out all kinds of screws and wood and tools and bolts and nuts, I was not pleased. That being said, the instructions are easy to follow and it goes together in about an hour or less. It’s quite heavy/sturdy. The color is beautiful and I’m hopeful it will last a few years. The mattress does not go down into the frame but sits atop it, which I wish it did go down into it so I felt the measurements may have been off. Also, the clips that hold the slats in place are plastic and all but 2 were cracked during shipping. On the plus side, that made the slats easier to install and they still stayed in place – go figure. Overall, nice quality for the price, compared to similar options on Amazon, Wayfair, etc.

I wanted to like these, bought two twins. They were difficult to put together, timely, took suggestions to keep everything loose and tighten at the end, so that helped. The second went faster than the first. Really don’t like the cheesy little leg in the middle of the bed, it’s ugly and flimsy, would be so much nicer looking if it wasn’t there, but then the bed would have to be built more solidly. I’ve already stubbed my toes on it a half dozen times! Positives: the headboard is cute, price is right. Tried buying a more expensive bed without the ugly leg but was out of stock. Wouldn’t purchase these again.

I’m in love with my bed! The shape is so retro cute ! I love the color ! Its sturdy and not too tall not too low …just right !
I shopped around for weeks and decided on this one and I’m so glad I did ! Furniture stores had little to offer in mid century style beds . I found a few platform beds but everything about them was wrong .
Took about 2 hours to put together . Fairly simple . It’s perfect for my mid century themed room

I ordered the mattress-in-a-box first. Don’t do that. Then I finally decided on this bed. Ordered it. Amazon took their time shipping it out (about 4-1/2 weeks). I kept checking my phone. Still not shipped. And I have Prime. The rolled-up mattres arrived within the first week and sat… in the box. After 3 weeks I researched to see if it is okay to just leave the mattress rolled up. No. It is not. You’re supposed to unroll the mattress as quickly as possible because prolonged compression makes mattresses-in-a-box “deteriorate.” Great. Still no bed so I opened and unrolled the mattress atop an old rollaway bed. It looks like I got lucky there but the rollaway is shorter and much narrower than standard twin mattresses so until it’s on a bed it fits and it’s being used I won’t really know. The mattress, is also from Amazon.
Finally, at about the 7-week mark, according to Amazon delivery updates on my phone, the bed arrived at a warehouse ten miles from my home. Then 3 days passed, the last update didn’t change and I’d had enough so I called. Mind you, the last “update” still indicated the bed was sitting in a nearby warehouse. But when I spoke to the CSR I was told the price I’d paid for the bed had already been “refunded” to my checking account. I’m looking at the last update on my phone and thinkin ‘Come again?!’ I asked him to wait while I checked. Yep. The purchase price had been refunded a week prior… Nobody asked me if I wanted to try again or accept a refund so the choice was made FOR me, leaving me still waiting, with no update to my order in my Amazon “Your Orders” page. Still plenty in stock… Whatever. Lesson learned: Do not order furniture from Amazon.
I ended up buying pretty much the same bed in the same color (in velvet, rather than tweed) from a competitor. I thought that was going to be a mess, too but I happily received THAT bed within two weeks. I hope I won’t have any trouble putting IT together (missing or odd parts, weirdly mismatched drill holes…), have fit issues between the mattress and bed or, God forbid, need to order a bunkie board from Amazon.
When I spoke with the Amazon CSR (none of this was HIS fault) I asked what happened. He had no idea (no notes in the computer…) but suspected it arrived damaged. But what’s left a bad taste in MY mouth are the not-updated messages from Amazon regarding this order, not knowing the mattress could have been destroyed if I hadn’t researched the posibility of damage IF left in the box, and the unnecessary waiting when I could have gotten something else long ago and had everything done a month ago.
If YOU order, know that 1) The pandemic is everyone’s excuse for delays, 2) Wait till you’ve RECEIVED and put together the bed, THEN order the mattress… then 3) Pray the measurements all jibe and time-consuming (and patience-consuming!) adjustments won’t need to be made. Good luck.
